School Uniform Symbolism

Students in our school wear a uniform, which is mandatory from kindergarten through high school. Our uniform carries our school logo and is worn with pride by our students.

School Uniform Policy

It is our policy that all children wear school uniforms when attending school or when participating in a school-organized event outside the regular school day. Maarif ensures that its students will be dressed in the smartest uniforms and knows that students will wear their uniforms with pride.

Aim

To ensure students wear their school uniform to develop the school ethos and support positive behavior and discipline.
Our policy on school uniforms is based on the notion that school uniforms:
- Promote a sense of pride in the school.
- Provide a sense of belonging and identity
- Promote equality.
- Are designed with health and safety in mind.
- Create a common identity amongst students regardless of background.

Roles and Responsibilities

Role of Students
Students will:
- Be aware of and comply with this policy by wearing a Maarif uniform 
- Take due care of their uniform.
- P.E. uniform is only worn on the scheduled P.E. days.

Role of Parents

Parents have a responsibility to 
- Send their children to school correctly dressed in Maarif school uniforms 
- Clean and in good repair. 
- Comply with the Maarif school uniform policy.

Footwear

- Only formal leather shoes or  sneakers (excluding shoes with spikes) are permitted.
- Footwear should enclose the toes and surround the heel.
- Rubber sandals, flip-flops, slippers, or going barefoot are not allowed.

Labeling Student Uniform Items

School uniforms and personal items are the responsibility of the students and their families. Please ensure that all clothing and personal possessions are clearly labeled with the student’s name and grade.

Jewelry

- On health and safety grounds, we do not allow children to wear jewelry in our school.
- The exceptions to this rule are:
- Earring studs for girls
- Medical identification bracelets may be worn by children with significant medical problems, e.g., Diabetes or epileps

Extreme Haircuts

- The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children.
- Girls with long hair should tie it back for safety reasons. Girls will use black, white, or khaki color hairbands/clips/hair catchers.

Consequences and Disciplinary Action

Students who come to school without school uniforms; all actions will be recorded and filled in the student supervision folder with the section Vice-Principal.

1st Time: Verbal warning- The student will be reminded to wear the uniform
2nd Time: Parents will be called/ notified to take the necessary action
3rd Time:  Written warning The student will be given a uniform, and the family must pay for it.
4th Time: Suspension  

Note: Five different disciplinary letters can seize to re-admissio
