The Emir of the Eastern Province congratulates two students from Manarat AlKhobar for winning top places in the Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) tournament in Thailand

Prince Saud bin Naif, Emir of the Eastern Province, received the students Khalid Al-Sharif and Ibrahim Al-Sharif in his office in the Principality Court on the occasion of their achievement of two top places in the Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) tournament held in Malaysia.
The Emir of the Eastern Region congratulated the competitors for their great achievement in the tournament held in Malaysia. He stressed that this achievement is a result of the endless support given by the leadership to the sons and daughters of this country who are competing at the international level.
Our students thanked the Emir of the Eastern Region for all the support, interest, and care that he gives to the achievements of the people of the region.
This achievement is supported by several programs and activities in Manarat AlKhobar School which are intended to reveal students’ talents by getting them to try out different activities. It is also thanks to the care taken by the school to prepare a generation that excels in numerous fields.

Maarif Education and Al-Birr Association in the eastern region sign an MOU

Maarif Education represented by its schools in the eastern region signed a cooperation agreement with Al-Birr Association. The agreement was signed by the CEO of Maarif Education and the Secretary-General of Al-Birr Association in the eastern region.
The agreement aims to contribute to the implementation of "Bunyan Academy Program for instilling values and skills" for the orphans of the association, by providing educational services and all the necessary logistics to make the program a success, based in Manarat Dammam Schools.
This comes as part of Maarif’s commitment to social responsibility and within a group of community initiatives and programs implemented by Maarif Education throughout its schools, in cooperation with the relevant authorities to contribute in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Maarif Education, represented by all its schools, started a series of campaigns and programs to celebrate International Volunteer Day 2022, under the theme "A Giving Nation". It aims to fulfil some of the community's needs, focusing on various voluntary activities in many fields that represent the social, environmental and humanitarian aspects in cooperation with government agencies and the non-profit sector.
International Volunteer Day provides an opportunity for volunteer organizations and individual volunteers to enhance their contributions to development at the local, national and international levels to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
It is worth mentioning that the celebration of International Volunteer Day enables students to engage in many volunteer experiences to serve the community, achieving the goals of modern community development and enhance the spirit of belonging to the country.

Maarif Education and American University of Sharjah supporting gifted future generations

Maarif Education signed a cooperation and partnership agreement with American University of Sharjah as part of its strategic priority to attract regional partnerships that bring added value to its students and human resources within its educational institutions.
Accordingly, the CEO of Maarif Education stated that “this partnership aims to promote sustainable partnerships with Maarif Education schools to offer its teachers and students a wide range of events, activities, and programs, including workshops for teachers and training students for participation in both academic and sports competitions. The university will also oversee some of the schools’ research and programs, and will grant students partial scholarships after being nominated by their schools. It will also sponsor a range of selected research, cultural, social and sports events that are organized by the school, as well as organize workshops for educational and ancillary staff. We are proud to mention that a number of Maarif Education graduates who are now in American University of Sharjah have been instrumental in this partnership.”
He emphasized that “American University of Sharjah is a beacon of learning in the region. Saudi Arabia is undergoing a tremendous transition and we are working hard to contribute to the realization of its Vision 2030. Education was a key area in the Kingdom’s transformation process, and we are looking forward to this partnership providing our students with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to strengthening the national agenda of Saudi Arabia.”
Regarding the importance of the agreement, the Chancellor of AUS said, “We believe in the responsibility of our two institutions to transfer knowledge and skills, and bring about societal change. As we celebrate 25 years of educational excellence at American University of Sharjah, we are pleased to see the partnership program expand throughout the region. The agreement was signed by the CEO of Maarif Education and the Chancellor of AUS.

Transferring the primary classes of Manarat Khobar international to Al-Faisaliah Campus for a wonderful learning experience

Maarif Education launches its first entrepreneurship summer program in collaboration with Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University

Maarif Education continues increasing its offering of outstanding educational programs to students by launching the first of its kind program throughout Kingdom cities in Saudi Arabia. Maarif has unveiled this year’s summer program in partnership with the Thunderbird School of Global Management (Thunderbird) at Arizona State University (ASU) located in the United States. The six-week program for entrepreneurs will be held in Arizona from June 12 to July 22, 2022.

The program teaches and trains high school students to build a business and develop entrepreneurial skills. It aims to cultivate a generation of qualified entrepreneurs and instructors utilizing the latest strategies at the hands of experts in the field. Maarif Education believes in the advantages of this program, including training delivered by the most qualified experts from the best educational institutions in the United States of America, within a varied program that includes lectures, workshops and practical activities. Students will have the chance to meet with entrepreneurs to learn from their experiences. This program will also provide an opportunity to meet students from different countries and backgrounds to develop their multicultural understanding.

Throughout the six-week program, students will work on identifying and developing solutions to some of today’s challenges faced both in their home countries and in the world. Each day, students will engage with a problem-based learning curriculum and apply their knowledge to solve the challenges they have chosen as their subject of study.

In addition to preparing students for higher education and supporting University applications, Individuals will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive educational experience that embeds the concepts and fundamentals of international management. It will also develop their entrepreneurial skills, to succeed in labor markets both locally and globally using their understanding of the fundamentals of international business such as international marketing, the field of consulting, human resources, entrepreneurship, and much more.

The first week of physical attendance for students in the primary and kindergarten witnessed an excellent attendance rate in all Maarif Education schools and kindergartens represented by Al-Manarat Schools, Al-Faisaliah Islamic Schools, Noor Al-Islam, GEMS Saudi International in and Ajyal International in Dhahran, with a commitment to implement all health precautionary measures.

After a break of more than two years, Maarif Education Schools open its doors to receive kindergarten and primary students

After in-class education of students had been interrupted for more than two years due to Covid-19, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health announced the resumption of in-class education for students in the primary and kindergarten stages who are less than 12 years old in government, private, international, and foreign schools, while continuing online education through various platforms for students who are unable to attend due to health conditions.
Maarif Education Schools, represented by Al-Manarat, Al-Faisaliah Islamic, Noor Al-Islam, Al-Rawabi Al-Khadra International, GEMS Saudi International, Ajyal Al-Alamiya schools, have taken all precautionary measures and implemented protocols for the safe attendance of kindergarten and primary students.
The Health & Safety department at Maarif Education will follow up the educational process in its schools for the primary and kindergarten stages, according to the flexible operational models for return and adhere to the application of health protocols and procedures approved by the Public Health Authority "Weqaya".
Maarif Education emphasizes the importance of community partnership in supporting the continuation of the educational journey for students in-class, despite the Corona pandemic and the need to reach societal immunity through our students, parents and teachers taking the third dose of the Corona vaccine, as well as getting tested after coming into contact with an infected person. Maarif Talents Represent 11% in the Elite Forum

King Abdul Aziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" and the Ministry of Education organize the "Elite Forum" to qualify and nominate the scientific teams participating in the international competitions of science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics during the coming period from December 16th to 27th, 2020 AD.

About 313 male and female students will participate in the Elite Forum which will be held online. Maarif students from Manarat Al-Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Al-Khobar and the Islamic Faisaliah represent 10.86% of the total participants in the Kingdom.

The forum aims to nominate, train and qualify Saudi teams to participate in the international competitions, Olympiads and international scientific Olympiad, through giving various training doses.

Our participants will go through 60 distant training hours by a group of highly qualified experts and specialists for a period of 12 days; 5 hours per day.

Maarif seeks to achieve a number of goals for the welfare of our students through partnership with Mawhiba Foundation to help them identify the new strategies of problem solving similar to questions from the international competitions, deal with scientific complex problems, develop performance in the qualifying tests, in addition to readiness to be present in the international competitions and forums.

In a live radio interview on Rotana Radio "Weyyak program”, Dr. Mohammad Al-Arfaj, The CEO of Maarif for Education and Training talking about MAARIF’s success story in E-learning, and the Fee-waiver initiative which was presented in appreciation to the students and parents.
First of all, Dr. Al-Arfaj appreciated the E-learning system that was launched by the Ministry of Education, and said “This reflects a strong nation that was able to build an advanced digital infrastructure”.
He said that Maarif for education’s schools had a great precedent in the field of E-learning, as it adopted a cooperation protocol with Microsoft to build a digital system that would serve nearly 30,000 students.
He emphasized that Maarif in 2012 decided to build a Maarif Learning Gateway (MLG) platform that serves all our students, their parents, teachers and leaders in the field.
Dr. Al-Arfaj declared that the Maarif Learning Gateway platform provides a comprehensive system of E-learning for every student, as it provides interactive educational lessons and various level tests, as well as a regular assignment system supervised by an educational team of teachers and leaders.
Dr. Al-Arfaj added that the Maarif Learning Gateway platform for digital learning is supervised by a technical staff with a high level of interaction & responding to provide support at the highest level.
He explained that the parent's satisfaction survey exceeded 93% compared to the last year, which gives us a sense of comfort and success to continue enhancing our educational services.

How do you evaluate the current e-learning programme you are offering? How have parents and students responded?

Our early planning and preparation for e-learning has paved the way for us to offer an advanced programme. It is based on live-streamed sessions where students can interact with the teacher throughout each lecture. Our parents are extremely pleased with our consistency in providing quality education and for not increasing the numbers of students in our online sessions. Through our e-learning programme we have set new benchmarks in the Kingdom with our organized schedule starting from day 1 according to the curriculum. Within the very first week of the new academic year, we had over 23,000 live lectures delivered online to our students, highlighting the advanced and solid digital and technical infrastructure of the Group.

How are students responding to the current teaching model? Are they comfortable and what are the steps in place to ensure they can continue to achieve good academic results?

Our e-learning programme has been very well received by the parents and students. Our team promptly responded to queries and concerns raised by students and parents, showing the proven ability of the school to handle e-learning programmes smoothly. The efforts have led to a 93 per cent parent satisfaction rate, underlining the excellence of Ma’arif in providing remote learning sessions. Our school results for May/June 2020 Exam Series in IGCSE, AS and A Level are outstanding, and have exceeded the UK average and our great results in Qudrat and Tahsili have placed our students in top universities.

Can you give us a background of the fee discounts you are providing due to the current e-learning model?

As a mark of appreciation by Ma’arif for Education and Training for the committed efforts of parents in supporting the students in e-learning we announced a tuition fee waiver initiative to support parents in managing the challenges incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our tuition fee waiver initiative ranged from 10%-100% for students in Manarat Schools, Al Faisalia Islamic Schools, Green Hills International Schools and Nour Al Islam Schools.

What are the key tools you use to deliver e-learning? How do you compare it with other institutions/models globally?

Building on our successful online learning experience, we have continued to strive for excellence in our education provision. We have invested heavily in our online platform MLG (Ma’arif Learning Gateway) which has been proven as a great platform by our teachers and students. It has been integrated with Office 365 including Microsoft Teams to secure live streaming sessions. Several remote educational services have been added and the library has been uploaded with all the resources needed for asynchronous access. Do you see e-learning as an alternative to in-school learning? How can you further enhance e-learning standards?

We will continue to invest in e-learning as per the requirements of the new reality, underpinned by our excellent results so far. Building on a successful online and interactive learning experience from last year, we carefully designed a plan that blends online and off-line lessons taking into consideration the screen-time students are exposed to during online learning. Our e-learning schedule includes synchronous and asynchronous learning. Most of our lessons are delivered in a synchronous manner where teachers from inside the classrooms, and students at home, are interacting in real time. To ensure parents and students are ready for the new academic term we organised a detailed online orientation session including routines of the online learning and how they have been scheduled. We have also shared our e-learning policies and guidelines with our parents and students prior to the start of the academic year.

What were the key lessons you learnt during the last term, when you had to implement e-learning for the first time? Did this lead to new approaches?

Education is evolving at a faster pace than during any other period in recent history, and exponential technologies hold the key to the future of education Ma’arif continues to strive for excellence in its education provision. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; September 9, 2020: Ma’arif for Education and Training (Ma’arif), one of the largest private school owners and operators in Saudi Arabia, has raised the bar on e-learning delivery and set new benchmarks in the Kingdom within the very first week of the new academic year.

Highlighting the competency of the leading education group in providing tech-driven quality education and its confidence in addressing the current challenges, Ma’arif completed more than 23,000 lectures of e-learning sessions in the first week alone. The successful delivery of e-learning, appreciated by parents and students alike, adds to the Group’s focus on providing quality education through remote sessions in the coming days and ensuring that students gain utmost advantage.

Setting an impressive track-record, more than 98 per cent student attendance was secured by Ma’arif schools in the first week. Lectures were delivered online to students, highlighting the strong digital and technical infrastructure of the Group. Ensuring seamless education delivery, 9,400 technical support cases were addressed efficiently by the team. They promptly responded to queries and concerns raised by students and parents, showing the proven ability of the school to handle e-learning programmes smoothly. The concerted efforts also led to a 93 per cent parent satisfaction rate, underlining the excellence of Ma’arif in providing remote learning sessions.

The successful delivery of online learning further adds to the commitment of the Group to supporting parents and students. Recently, Ma’arif had announced tuition waivers from 10 to 100 per cent for students across its network, covering the Manarat Schools, Al Faisalia Islamic Schools, Green Hills International Schools and Nour Al Islam Schools.

While kindergarten students can avail of 100 per cent tuition fee waiver, students in Grade 1 get 50 per cent fee discount. Grade 2 and 3 students get 25 per cent discount while those in Grade 4 to 6 benefit from 15 per cent fee reduction. There is blanket 10 per cent fee discount for all students from Grade 7 and above.

He added: “We have planned our schedules and timetables to resemble a normal school day as much as possible and developed a dynamic assessment process that allows us to measure engagement and educational outcome, not simply attendance. From day one, our students have started receiving the same academic and education provision they would have received in a typical schooling day through our programme that blends online and offline lessons. Moreover, we used the week prior to day one for induction and ran multiple test sessions to ensure our student and parents are ready.”

Ma’arif has introduced several remote educational services including technical support channels (MLG [Ma’arif Learning Gateway] tickets, E-Mail, WhatsApp groups, and phone call) which are there to support students during the e-learning sessions. The school’s online platform MLG has also been integrated with Office 365 including Microsoft Teams to secure live streaming sessions.

Ma’arif International Schools have earned an excellent reputation in Saudi Arabia, over the years, for their outstanding performance in Cambridge International Examinations. Results for May/June 2020 Exam Series in IGCSE, AS and A Level are outstanding, and have exceeded the UK average.

Manarat Al Khobar International Schools have decided to apply the below fee-waiver initiative. The following percentages will be waived from the normal applicable fees during the E-learning period for the first academic term of the upcoming academic year
o KG: 100%
o G1: 50%
o G2-G3: 25%
o G4-G6: 15%
o G7 and above: 10%

o The parent is entitled to benefit from the initiative when completing the academic year. In case of withdrawal from the school before the end of the 2nd academic term, the full tuition amount will be due.

o If the online learning period is extended (based on MOE instructions), the fee-waiver initiative will be only be applied to the first academic term.

Maarif for Education: opens schools for visitors after implementing strict precautionary measures against covid-19

Maarif for Education ensured that schools including Manarat Schools, Al Faisaliah Islamic Schools, Noor Al Islam Schools and Green Hills International Schools, have taken the precautionary measures and are ready to open doors to receive prospective parents and school visitors in a safe environment.

Dr. Mohamed Al -Arfaj, the Executive Director of Maarif for Education & Training, said: “All school staff members will stringently follow all COVID-19 related health and safety regulations and instructions set by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. And we are happy to open our schools to welcome visitors starting from 7 June 2020.”

Services provided include transactions, admissions as well as registrations for the upcoming academic year 1440/1441 H-2020/2021.

The schools have launched the disinfection program right after the statement issued by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah on television on 25May 2020 indicating that the country has developed scenarios for the gradual return to normalcy starting from 28 May 2020.

About 313 male and female students will participate in the Elite Forum which will be held online. Maarif students from Manarat Al-Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Al-Khobar and the Islamic Faisaliah represent 10.86% of the total participants in the Kingdom.

The forum aims to nominate, train and qualify Saudi teams to participate in the international competitions, Olympiads and international scientific Olympiad, through giving various training doses.
