وفقًا لتعريف منظمة الصحة العالمية (2021)، تُعَد الرفاهية "وضعًا إيجابيًا يتمتع به الأفراد والمجتمعات. وهي أحد موارد الحياة اليومية التي تعتمد على الظروف الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والبيئية. وتنطوي الرفاهية على جودة الحياة وقدرة الأفراد والمجتمعات على تقديم إسهامات ذات مغزى وقيمة للعالم".
ونحن في شركة معارف للتعليم نؤمن بشدة بأن الأطفال السعداء الواثقين من أنفسهم يتمتعون بأفضل الفرص التي ستجعل منهم أشخاصًا بالغين قادرين على تحمل المسؤولية ويتسمون بالاحترام والمرونة ومسلحين بالمزايا والمهارات التي تؤهلهم لتقديم إسهامات هادفة للمجتمع. لذلك نعمل على ضمان دمج رفاهية طلابنا وعاملينا بشكل أساسي في فلسفتنا التعليمية.

فريق إدارة الرفاهية بشركة معارف للتعليم
تحت القيادة الإستراتيجية لرئيس قسم الحماية، تتألف إدارة الرفاهية التابعة لشركة معارف للتعليم من الوحدات التالية:
الوحدة التعليمية
يتحمل القادة التعليميون في جميع مدارس معارف للتعليم مسؤولية التأكد من تقديم منهج التعليم الإيجابي للطلاب. ويلتزم طاقم تدريس منهج الرفاهية بطرح الدروس على الطلاب ومتابعة المنهج حسب الاقتضاء على مدار العام الدراسي.
الوحدة الصحية
تضم جميع مدارس معارف للتعليم عيادات صحية تقدم خدمات الرفاهية الصحية للطلاب والعاملين الذين يحتاجون إلى الرعاية الصحية أو العلاج أثناء وجودهم داخل الحرم المدرسي. وتُدار هذه العيادات تحت إشراف طبيب/مُسعِف/ممرضة، بينما يتولى المشرف الطبي لشركة معارف للتعليم مسؤولية إدارة مهام الرفاهية هذه في جميع مدارس معارف للتعليم.
وحدة الصحة النفسية
تتمتع جميع مدارس معارف التعليمية بخدمات دعم الصحة العقلية التي توفر دعمًا للصحة العقلية للطلاب والموظفين الذين يحتاجون إلى الدعم النفسي. يتم تقديم هذه الخدمات من قبل علماء نفس مؤهلين، حيث يتولى مشرف الصحة العقلية في معارف التعليمية المسؤولية الشاملة عن إدارة وظيفة الرفاهية هذه في جميع مدارس معارف التعليمية.

الحماية
يُستخدَم مصطلح "الحماية" للإشارة إلى التدابير المطبقة في المدارس بهدف تعزيز الصحة والرفاهية وحقوق الإنسان لأي شخص ينتمي إلى تلك المدارس ويخضع لرعايتها.
تقع مسؤولية الحماية على عاتق الجميع في شركة معارف للتعليم، حيث إن لكل فرد من أفراد طاقم العمل دورًا في تعزيز الصحة والرفاهية وحقوق الإنسان لدى الأطفال والمراهقين والبالغين الذين يدرسون أو يعملون في المدارس أو ممن يشاركون في عمليات المدارس بأي شكل من الأشكال.

Wellbeing
Wellbeing, as defined by the World Health Organization (2021), is “a positive state experienced by individuals and societies. It is a resource for daily life and is determined by social, economic, and environmental conditions. Wellbeing encompasses quality of life, as well as the ability of people and societies to contribute to the world in accordance with a sense of meaning and purpose”.
At Maarif Education, we hold strong beliefs that happy and confident children and young people have the best opportunity to grow into responsible, respectful, and resilient adults, who are equipped with both attributes and skills to purposefully contribute to society. As a result, we ensure that the wellbeing of our students and staff is fundamental to our educational philosophy.
At Maarif Education, we simply define wellbeing as “feeling positive and functioning well”.
Wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility, and all Maarif Education employees have a duty of care to actively promote the wellbeing of their students and fellow staff members.

Maarif Education Wellbeing Department Team
Under the strategic leadership of the Head of Safeguarding, the Maarif Education Wellbeing Department is comprised of the following units:
Educational Unit
Across all Maarif Education schools, school academic leaders are responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Positive Education curriculum to students. Wellbeing teaching staff are responsible for the delivery of lessons to students and for following the curriculum as required across the school year.
Medical Unit
All Maarif Education schools have medical clinics that provide medical wellbeing support for students and staff who require medical attention or treatment while on the school campus. These clinics are operated under the leadership of a doctor/paramedic/nurse, with the Maarif Education Medical Supervisor taking overall responsibility for the management of this wellbeing function across all Maarif Education schools.
Mental Health Unit
All Maarif Education schools have mental health support services that provide mental health wellbeing support for students and staff who require psychological support. These services are provided by qualified psychologists, with the Maarif Education Mental Health Supervisor taking overall responsibility for the management of this wellbeing function across all Maarif Education schools.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the term used to describe the measures that schools put in place to promote and protect the health, wellbeing and human rights of every individual under the school’s care.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility at Maarif Education and all school staff have a duty of care to actively promote the health, wellbeing and human rights of children, young people and adults who are either enrolled at the school, work at the school, or have any involvement with the school’s operations.

At Maarif Education, safeguarding plays a critical role in the overall culture of our organization and our schools. To that end, our corporate staff, school executive leaders and the Board of Directors have committed to rigorous and systematic approach to safeguarding, which includes the following tenets:
- A formal Safeguarding Policy that provides guidelines for the holistic safeguarding approach that Maarif Education is embedding across the organization
- A formal Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Policy that provides guidelines for the prevention of accidents and injuries across Maarif Education schools
- A formal Child Protection Policy that provides guidelines for all Maarif Education staff around child protection principles
- A formal Wellbeing Policy that provides guidelines for the organization around the promotion of wellbeing outcomes for both staff and students
- Being a certified International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems organization, and having fully compliant OH&S management systems operating across all Maarif Education schools
- An international standard child protection framework implemented across all Maarif Education schools, including school executive leaders assuming dedicated Child Protection Officer (CPO) responsibilities, the formation of Child Protection Committees, annual staff training, parent and student awareness sessions, child protection being embedded in all facets of Human Resource requirements for the organization, and a confidential online child protection reporting system to report on child protection incidents in each school
- A full, international standard wellbeing framework that supports social, emotional, physical, spiritual and personal health, including the provision of medical services through the school medical clinics in alignment with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education regulations, the value addition of a mental health unit that provides psychological support to students, and a wellbeing curriculum framework that develops students holistically in preparation for life beyond school.
